Even simple actions on the Internet, like visiting a website, are logged somewhere, along with your IP address. If you don't want your personal information stored in a place where hackers can have access to it, then you should turn to a VPN service. Most VPN applications will connect you to random servers from a specific pool, leaving you without any say in the matter, but this is not the case with Viscosity. It allows you to define your own connections and tweak them in any way you want.

Viscosity's user interface is divided into several sections, which can be accessed via navigation buttons. Each section contains options for managing connections, make a few general behavior and appearance settings, as well as a few advanced network tweaks. The application allows you to define multiple connections, with different settings. They are displayed in a list and you can switch between them on the fly.

New connections are created on a tabbed panel. Besides specifying a name, address and port, you can also choose a protocol and a device, input various authentication information and much more. Viscosity can run in the background. During this time, you may connect to one of your VPNs, through an icon on the menu bar. You can also bring up a details panel, through the same icon, on which you can view your connection's download and upload rates, client and server IPs and more.

Pros

You can define your own VPN connections. The application allows you to save multiple setups. Also, you can make numerous configurations.

Cons

There are no obvious issues to mention. Viscosity gives you the possibility of protecting your privacy in your own way.
